Friends - AF

According to An Island Life:

"In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response."

Yesterday, I got to visit with a good friend of mine that I hadn’t seen in a very long time. We enjoyed a lovely, three-hour lunch - boy, does time fly when you’re having fun! We ate, we talked, we laughed… it was as if we saw each other only days ago.

I really miss my friends.

My question today:

When you get together with friends you haven’t seen in ages, does it feel like you just saw them last week, and you pick up right where you left off?

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link at today's installation of Aloha Friday at An Island Life. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

I think it can be awkward for a minute or two, but then it warms up. I don't have a lot of really "close" friends, though. Enjoy my blogging friends just as much!

With very good friends, no matter that we haven't seen each other in years or live across oceans, we always seem to pick up right where we left off. Those are the keepers. :)

When I see my best friend I feel like it has been forever and I am consumed with tears. Just got to visit with her and her children last week. It was the best few days I have had in a long time. We have been calling each other almost every day since she left. We miss each other and the kids keep asking about one another. My last W/W post had pix of lil' D with his future wife "E" playing in the surf. Good times! Have a wonderful weekend and take care.

In some ways we just pick up and in other ways, we're aging together.

I have one friend, we only see each other every 5 years or so. We pick up right where we left off.

Usually you just pick up where you left off. With kids and life so hectic time often gets longer between visits.

Pick up right where we left off. We understand that life gets busy and we may not see each other as often as we like with kids and stuff, but when we get together, it's like we just saw each other yesterday.

Yes, but it is probably because I talke with them daily on the phone.

I agree with the others...we take off where we left off and don't miss a beat. It seems like the time spent together is far and few so it's great to be together again.

This actually happened to me last year with a friend I hadn't seen in two years or so. It was kind of awkward at first because we didn't really know if we still "knew" each other, but we kind of got a little more relaxed over time.

With my friends it's always as if we saw each other just yesterday. No awkwardness. We're like sisters.

How funny...your questions is similar to what I wrote about on my blog!

I think it depends on the friend. When it's your true blue friends, no awkwardness at all. It's like just picking up where you left off!!

Not everyone but some people, yes!

Yes! We may have to cover a lot of ground in terms of catching up, but the feeling is always the same! :)

I always seem to pick up where I left off with people. I love that!

I think for me it depends on just how long it has been since we have seen each other or talked...
But usually YES, we just start back where we left off...there has to be that bond right???

Happy 4th to ya....

With friends I haven't seen or emailed in a awhile there is usually an awkward pause while we both readjust & then we fill each other in, make our excuses and pick up where we last left off

Depends on the friend. Some can make you feel pretty awkward.

Happy 4th July, Jennifer!!

I think it depends on the person and also on what's going on at the time.

I would have to say that we probably would be able to pick up from where we left off!

it is about 1/2 and 1/2 with friends. Some, it is so easy, and others it takes forever to get caught back up. I love the easy friendships were you can just jump in!

I think it depends lol Some people you used to know.. well.. well it seems they have changed or you have.. and it can be awkward.. but other times.. it is like picking right up where you left off. wow I am so brilliant LOL
