My children don’t like to sleep. Therefore I ask the question: Are these kids my children???
Why do they fight sleep? Napping is delicious! If someone told me to take a nap every day, I’d say, “Okay!” and fall asleep right where I stood (if you’re a mom, you know what I’m talking about – you’ve probably done it!).
Yet in all its deliciousness, my boy thinks taking naps are a punishment. When I put my son down for a nap, all he does for an hour is fidget, sigh deeply, whisper (presumably) to himself, “I not sleepy!”
Oh, and the little lady I just gave birth to isn’t any better. She seems to think napping should only come in ten minute bursts, every four hours.
What’s a mom to do?
Bribe the older one with a bowl of Fruit Loops upon waking, then practice my hypnosis skills on the six month old. This is real life, people.
